Colby Day's Profile

Colby Day recently graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a double major in Linguistics and International Studies and a minor in Chemistry. She spent her junior year studying abroad in Scotland at the University of Edinburgh.
Colby joined the UNC-CH chapter of the Triple Helix in September of 2006 as a writer and then became Managing Editor. In January 2007 she was promoted to Editor-in-Chief. She is also Co-Chair of StemGroup at UNC-CH and an active member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Health Honor Society. Furthermore, Colby is very active in volunteering as a Spanish interpreter at the Open Door Clinic in Raleigh and at the UNC Hospital.
In addition, Colby completed an undergraduate honors thesis investigating the sociolinguistic factors affecting physician-patient communication and access to healthcare. She will be attending medical school in the fall of 2007.
