Catharyn Howard-Teplansky is a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is an Economics and International studies double major.

In April 2006, Catharyn founded the UNC-CH chapter of the Triple Helix and under her leadership as President it has had many successes as an emerging campus organization. In December, she was promoted to the Regional Management Team as Executive Director of Marketing for North America.

In addition to her involvement with The Triple Helix, Catharyn is very active on campus. She is member of Pi Beta Phi fraternity for women. Since February 2006, she has served as the Policy Correspondent for The UNC-CH Chapter of the Roosevelt Institution, America’s first national student think tank, and also has been an active member of the Education Policy center since 2005. She was appointed to serve on the WXYC student radio station Board of Directors as a student government representative.

In the summer of 2005, she interned at Thomson Marketing Resources in Boston where she learned how to conduct and analyze market research, and developed her interest in marketing. In her free time she enjoys sailing, tennis, and playing squash.

After graduation, Catharyn plans on attending law school and has career aspirations of practicing corporate law.
